Consecutive Interpreting
Consecutive Interpretation is the most widely used type of on-site interpretation and is most appropriate for legal proceedings and small meetings such as training workshops, negotiations and technical seminars when the voices of the speaker and the interpreter should not be overwrapping to each other while a reporter or video-taker is recording the proceeding. In consecutive interpretation, the speaker speaks for a few minutes, then pauses. The interpreter takes notes and interprets the speaker’s message during the pause.
